If the Maduro regime in Venezuela does not take steps within the next two days to implement an agreement that allows July elections to be held fairly, the Biden government intends to resume oil sanctions against Venezuela and end a six-month moratorium.

If Venezuela does not act, the United States plans to allow a Treasury license to allow oil and gas production not to be extended after it expires on Thursday, according to people familiar with the matter who spoke on condition of anonymity without public speaking authority.

The Biden administration has been trying to wait as much time as possible for breakthroughs that could change its plans, according to people familiar with the matter. If the license expires, the United States will take action to mitigate the impact on Americans and the U. S. oil market.

In October last year, the United States awardedOnlineslotsnodepositThe permit was granted when Maduro's representatives travelled to Barbados to sign an agreement that measures would be taken to hold free and fair elections. But Mr Maduro has since tested the bottom line of the deal, banning Maria Corina Machado, who won the opposition primary in October, from running.

The Biden administration is concerned that the revocation of licenses could exacerbate Venezuela's economic crisis. Venezuela was the second largest source of undocumented immigrants from the US-Mexico border last year. Immigration is a key issue for Biden to compete with Trump again in the general election.

The U.S. Treasury Department, a White House spokesman and the Venezuelan Ministry of Information didn't immediately respond to requests for comment.
